The Challenge

This Queen Creek homeowner loved the layout of their kitchen but had grown tired of the dark brown cabinetry that came with the house. The original cabinets were solid and well-built — there was no reason to tear them out — but the medium-brown stain made the entire kitchen feel heavier and more traditional than the family wanted.

They came to us with a clear ask: a fresh, lighter look with some real design personality. No demo. No layout changes. Just smarter cabinetry, better lighting, and a finish that would feel current for the next decade.

Our Solution

Rather than replace what was already working, we kept the existing cabinetry and gave it a full transformation in place. A two-tone repaint anchors the new look — soft Dew Matte across the perimeter cabinets for warmth and brightness, with black accents that ground the design and add contrast.

The standout addition is a new bank of full-height upper cabinets with glass-front doors, built using Sollid Cabinetry’s Napa door style in black. Integrated LED lighting runs inside the glass uppers, turning everyday dishware into a display and giving the kitchen its own ambient glow in the evening.

New matte black hardware ties the whole space together — small detail, big impact. Same with the painted lower cabinets: a finish that reads custom and built-in rather than refreshed.

The Results

In 3 weeks, this Queen Creek kitchen went from heavy and traditional to bright, two-tone, and intentional — without a single cabinet box being torn out. The new glass uppers became the family’s favorite element on day one, and the LED lighting turned everyday plates and glasses into a soft evening display.

This is the kind of project we love: zero waste, fast turnaround, and a result that looks like a full remodel cost a fraction of the price.
