The Challenge
When fire and water damage devastated this Mesa home, the homeowners faced every homeowner’s nightmare. The kitchen was completely destroyed — cabinets warped, all surfaces damaged, flooring ruined throughout large portions of the house. It required a full tear-out and rebuild of the kitchen plus extensive flooring work across the home.
Working with an insurance company on a timeline, getting the family back in their home fast was priority one. But with challenge comes opportunity — rather than simply restore what was lost, these homeowners decided to build the kitchen they’d always wanted.
Our Solution
Working closely with the homeowners and their insurance company, we designed and executed a complete transformation in just 6 weeks from project start.
The new kitchen is anchored by a massive Taj Mahal quartzite island with dramatic waterfall edges on both sides and seating for four. It’s a sculptural centerpiece that gives the space a high-end, custom feel without needing to touch the footprint of the original layout.
Custom dove white shaker cabinetry from Sollid’s Sundance II line runs floor to ceiling, maximizing storage and creating the bright, airy atmosphere the family needed after months of displacement. Above the professional 6-burner KitchenAid range, a bold black wood range hood makes a strong architectural statement — the kind of detail that anchors a kitchen and makes it feel designed rather than assembled.
Travis’s tile work is the detail that elevates this project from a rebuild to a showcase. The stacked-style backsplash in Arizona Tile Spark Ivory Matte has hand-finished edges with subtle variations that catch the light differently throughout the day. Floating walnut shelves add warmth on either side of the hood, and three oversized lantern pendants over the island set the right mood for evenings.
Beyond the kitchen, we installed luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout all affected areas of the home — creating a durable, cohesive foundation that ties the entire first floor together seamlessly.
